First time balcony seat leh.... really wow, but really 'blind'
1) the setting was 'blinding'. totally breathtaking.
when we first enter the theatre, what first came to my mind was, 'how dull' what are all those cloths for. is it gonna be so dull and grey throughout... no way.. i was so so wrong... those who have seen the show, think you know what i mean by blinding when everything was revealed. This is wat i can true professional theatre. and 'forbidden city' pales in comparision. (sad to admit, but it is so) i really love love love love those curtains. those thick curtains that lift to reveal the world that lies within. the office, the stairway, the room, the stage, the audience.. oh...
the sets shifting into place silently within and beyond the curtains. now we don't see it, now we do.. its so smooth, so real. the boat moving as if its really being pushed along by the phantom, but is it? i'm still wondering. is it manual or auto? the bridge across the river, the 'church', the ballroom.. everything's so so real. just the sight of the setting coming to life within seconds is worth the money we're paying. (i really paid quite alot for this. its balcony seat!)
2)the singing was 'blinding' to some. (both positive and negative manner)
for some parts, i totally lost track of what they were singing, or shall i say most parts of the show, i'm lost. i can't catch words that were sang, but rather i sensed what they were singing. though the words were lost on me, the singing wasn't. oh. besides the words, one of the female lead's singing was really really blinding. a bit too high. but think that was actually as what the story required...
3) i was blind to the story. in a way... i don't really catch the name of the characters... i don't even know the name of the 'little girl', after the whole thing, i dont yet know the actual name of the phantom. anyone know the actual name of 'phantom'?? i wanna read the actual tale... not the script.
4) i was literally blind on that day. i forgot to bring my specs back from office. though i don't have to wear specs in the past, i seriously think i do now. from where i sit, i'm supposedly to see the features of every character clearly. i was that near... i can't see the phantom face properly. argh. i can't see christine's face properly. the features are not really that defined... but i can still see the emotions la... but argh.. its really quite irritating. but then it is only after the whole show when i was sitting at harry's bar basking in the remains that i thought that i SHOULD HAVE SEEN EVERYTHING MUCH CLEARER!!! argh.. pris managed to see everything so up close. .... argh.. argh....... !"U!R%^*%£!*^£(!)
